About Mowogo Lodge
Mowogo Lodge is the Order of the Arrow Lodge of the Northeast Georgia Council. The Lodge has seven Chapters, each affiliated with one district of the Council. Mowogo is very much a youth-led Lodge. Refer to "Chiefly Speaking" from the 2010 Lodge Chief and the Lodge Goals set by the youth leadership for the 2010 year.
The Lodge totem is the black bear on all four legs.
Chiefly Speaking
Today I stand before you, my brothers, honored beyond belief to hold the distinguished title as Chief of Mowogo Lodge. For almost one-hundred years, the Order of the Arrow has held a reputation of weighty morality, constantly reminding Arrowmen and scouts to live under the principles of Brotherhood, Cheerfulness, and Service. These qualities have consistently led Arrowmen to become optimal scouts and Americans, serving their country and community.
Throughout the years, Mowogo Lodge has always exemplified the exceptional traits of the Order, retaining an excellent record of diligence and motivation. However, this success has not been an automatic or simple accomplishment. Past Lodge leaders and outstanding Arrowmen have spent more than their share of days in arduous labor – working gladly, not begrudging, seeking to serve, and thus remaining faithful to the high ideals and purpose of the Order of the Arrow. As your Lodge Chief I will strive to rise to meet and then exceed the standards set by my predecessors.
Make no mistake; this is not a one-man system. We, as a team and as a brotherhood, must unite to become the most effective lodge possible. The combination of all our efforts and opinions will always be greater than the contribution of a single person. In our case, this attitude could not be more useful. This year, my Lodge Administration will coalesce and refine our goals and ideas throughout the next year to strengthen our organization. There is no doubt that I will actively seek the support of you, my brothers, and I fervidly urge you to seek the support of me, as a leader and friend.
2010 looks to be an amazing year of general scouting nationwide and an even more memorable experience for Arrowmen. The national anniversary has come with an expectation of service from the Order of the Arrow. We wish to meet this anticipation with a devoted force, showing both the council and the nation what exactly Mowogo Lodge is made of. Our service and determination will directly influence how we perform this year. Together, we will transcend over the boundary that has been set by precedence. We will achieve and we will succeed.
