Drivers Needed for Conclave!

Hello Arrowmen Parents!

I hope you are all doing absolutely fantastic on this fine evening. I'm sending this email as an attempt to solve a problem we see as recurring with most OA events: transportation. This issue presents itself more obviously with farther events such as Conclave.

One of the most common reasons we get for not attending OA events is because scouts are unable to find a ride. Unfortunately, dozens, if not hundreds, of scouts face this problem every year. Right now we need some outstanding adult volunteers who would be willing to drive people to and from the event. If you are not in the OA but want to help drive then you do not need to register for the event or stay the weekend but you do need to fill out the form below.

Please consider being a driver and taking as many scouts as you can when you make your way to Conclave. You will be doing a great service and the people whom you give rides for will get to experience an event to truly remember.

The biggest criteria for driving though is to make sure Youth Protection Training is being followed. Unless the scout is a member of your family you are required to drive 2 scouts at a minimum and please make sure to visit the link here for the Guide to Safe Scouting guidelines on driving youth, and make sure when you fill out the form to include a copy of your completed YP training. You must be at least 18 years old to drive youth arrowmen.

Conclave will be held at Flint River High Adventure Area (Camp Thunder) at 1166 Dripping Rock Rd, Molena, GA. This is a 2-hour 45-minute drive from Scoutland.

If you are interested in being a driver then please be sure to fill out this Google form: https://forms.gle/nX72kgnVfaSfyyCp6

Please upload a copy of your completed and up to date Youth Protection Training to the google form. A link or screenshot of the certificate will suffice.

Thanks, everyone for their dedication to service! If you have any questions please feel free to email me at lodge.chief@mowogo.org and if you're over 18 make sure to copy a second adult. lodge.adviser@mowogo.org is my adviser Mr. Royston for YP purposes and wisdom of course.

1 WEEK FOR NOAC

Hello Mowogo Lodge!

As of right now, there is 6 DAYS left for you to register for NOAC. Registration for the National Order of the Arrow Conference will close at midnight on March 28th (3/28), at midnight.

For those of you who don't know what NOAC is, or want to learn a little bit more about it, the National Order of the Arrow Conference is the largest event hosted by the OA, and the 2nd largest event in the BSA (behind National Jamboree), and will be attended by over 6,000 Arrowmen from every state in the US.

Registration for NOAC can be done here - NOAC Registration Link, and there are only 10 slots left for our lodge.

This year NOAC is taking place at the University of Colorado Boulder from July 29th to August 3rd (7/29-8/3). The contingent will be flying out that Monday, and flying back in on that Saturday from Hartsfield Jackson to Denver International Airport.

Exciting activities have ranged from elaborate escape rooms to national basketball competitions, golf excursions, and even professionally produced 5K and triathlon events! However, there is unorganized fun at NOAC as well.

Constantly at NOAC, you have the opportunity to meet new Arrowmen from across the country! If you want to take a look at some of the program, here's a link to the program for 2022 - Program Link. But 2024 is going to be even bigger than the last!

The price is a bit steeper, but it covers airfare, transport from CU to DEN, meals for a week, lodging, lodge merchandise, all training cells, all program costs, and the shows every night!

Also, patch designs are due TONIGHT, so if you have any ideas for patch sets, t-shirts, or hats, please send them to noac2024@mowogo.org

I cannot wait to see all of you in Boulder in a few short months, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me at noac2024@mowogo.org!
