Join SWAPA Jamboree Staff

Dear Brothers,

I want to connect with you all and invite you to be part of a brand-new event in Northeast Georgia Council. This year, instead of a fall camporee, Apalachee and Sweetwater District will come together and launch a jamboree-style event at Camp Rainey Mountain. Picture a mini-summer camp weekend with all the program stations open, several fun events, and time to unwind with your friends while having a great time.

As you know, Coming out of COVID, our troops are struggling. They need excitement, spirit, and fellowship to help each of them grow their Scouting programs. We can help!! With your support we can infuse this event with spirit and excitement and make SWAPA an event to remember - it will be SPECTACULAR!! SWAPA will allow troops from both Sweetwater and Apalachee Districts (as well as troops from other districts and councils) to come together and experience the FUN of the Scouting program, without the pressure that hosting or competing may create. The more troops come, the more amazing SWAPA will be.

There are two ways to help. One - promote the event to your troop and get them excited to attend. Two - become part of the best ever, NEGA famous, youth staff.

The goal is to have a full youth staff composed of Scouts aged 13 and at least First Class or are members of a Venturing Crew. In addition to supporting specific program areas of interest, we are also looking for a youth leadership team that will include an SPL, ASPLs, Masters of Ceremonies for the campfire and battle of the air bands, program area leads, and communication leads for social media. In addition, there is an opportunity to volunteer in the OA Service Corps.

Staffers receive meals, a staffer t-shirt, and of course...a patch!
Although you are volunteering, each youth staffer will still have opportunities to participate in the program. The goal is for everyone to have fun.

NOAC Shirts & Hats Available

Hello Mowogo Lodge,

Mowogo NOAC t-shirts and hats are now available for pre-order. This order form is for any Lodge Member that wants a Mowogo NOAC t-shirt or hat, or any Mowogo NOAC Contingent member that wants exta shirts or hats.

  • If you are not attending NOAC or are attending NOAC individually or as staff, the only way to get a Mowogo NOAC shirt or hat is to purchase them using the pre-order form.
  • If you are attending NOAC as a Mowogo Lodge Contingent member, you will receive 3 shirts and 1 hat as part of your registration. Use the pre-order form only if you wish to purchase additional shirts or hats.

Indian Summer event at Camp Rotary in Hartwell, GA

Hosted by the Ani-Gatogewi Chapter

Ani Gatogewi Chapter LogoThis Day of Service will include various projects around our primitive campground facility of Camp Rotary on Lake Hartwell. The service projects will take place in the morning. The afternoon activities will include training cells for Indian Affairs (Ceremonies, dancing, drumming, and an Indian Lore Merit Badge Class). Lunch and dinner will be provided. In the evening after dinner, there will be a campfire to thank all the participants who came to help out and learn, and it will end with a Re-Dedication Ceremony.

There will be an LEC meeting during the event in the evening. LEC members, we would prefer that you register so that we can purchase enough food for both the participants and LEC members.

If you wish to attend the Indian Lore Merit Badge class, please check the merit badge check box so that we can order enough kits.

All participants are requested to bring appropriate PPE gear for the work projects, including gloves and eye protection.

The $15 fee covers lunch, dinner, and an event patch.
As food and patches will be ordered in advance, payment online is the only option for this event.

 

NOAC 2022 Contingent Patches

Dear Mowogo Lodge,

I hope that you all are doing well. I wanted to spread the excellent news, and tell you all that our NOAC Delegate and Contingent patches are available for pre-order now!!!!! You can get yours here!!

These patches are available to all Mowogo Lodge members, even if they are not signed up to participate at NOAC. Make sure to get them fast because pre-order ends June 1st.
All patch orders must be picked up in person at NOAC or PowWow. Please note that these patches are available for Mowogo Lodge members only and there is no option for mail delivery.

ACTION REQUIRED! NOAC updates, payments, and activities

Mowogo NOAC contingent,

We've been receiving a number of updates about NOAC recently, and I want to run down a few key pieces of information for you to make sure you know what steps you need to take to prepare for the conference.

The NOAC trading post pre-order closes THIS FRIDAY, so if you'd like to order any NOAC gear, do it today. Here's the link: https://tradingpost.oa-bsa.org/events/2022-noac/

Payments: Please make your next or final payment on the Mowogo Lodge website. Just a reminder, if you are not yet paid in full, the regular fee of $700 is required to be paid by May 31, 2022. Otherwise, the fee jumps up to $750 on June 1. I will be following up with you individually to confirm your payment status.

Update your registrations: Please log into NOARES and resolve any remaining issues on your registration. Issues may be anything from emergency contact information to activity registration to completing the waivers. https://registration.oa-bsa.org/

Register for Activities: Registration for individual activities is open in NOARES. All registrations are requests, and your final schedule will be set after registration closes on May 31. If you do not select training cells and other activities BEFORE May 31, you will be assigned to training and activities as space allows. Don't wait. Log in and select those activities TODAY.

Patch designs have been approved by the LEC, and more information will be forthcoming. Each registered delegate will receive a set, and more can be ordered by delegates, staff, and other Mowogo members. Stay tuned for more info.
